Never let the truth get in the way of a good story

Dear Friends,

Martin County now holds a special place among Florida counties. Two sitting commissioners and one former commissioner are under multiple criminal indictments for violating public records laws.  Their defense is to use a highly organized offense to try to shape public opinion, accusing Lake Point of being responsible for their criminal indictments. 

You know what they say, never let the truth get in the way of a good story. 

The truth of the matter is that the indictments were written by a jury of their peers. Keep in mind friends, the law requires that no fewer than 15 citizens from a randomly selected jury pool sit on the grand jury. After they are presented with the evidence and instructed on the law, they are left to deliberate and vote in privacy.  Simply put, the grand jury, not Lake Point, was responsible for indicting Sarah Heard, Ed Fielding, and Anne Scott. The three of them will now face another jury of their peers some time in the future and that jury will determine their guilt or innocence...
