MARTIN COUNTY — Should the school district have an appointed superintendent rather than an elected one? The issue has resurfaced after voters last decided more than six years ago.
The School Board, at the request of member Rebecca Negron, is expected to discuss a possible change — Martin County's superintendent now is elected by popular vote — at an upcoming workshop. The question already has gone to the ballot four times with the same result. If the board asks for another referendum, it likely would be on the 2018 ballot.
