Funny thing happened on the way to work a few weeks ago:
I drove past Jensen Beach Elementary School and noticed a missing chunk of the facade, pried loose by Hurricane Irma last year, had finally been replaced.
This, after Jensen Beach parents (and yours truly) suggested the school — where trees grow through the floor, windows are so damaged kids can't see outside and an outdoor canopy looks like it might collapse at any moment — needs to be bulldozed and replaced with a modern school.
The facade repair might not have had anything to do with the complaints. Then again, sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Problem is, there's nowhere near enough grease to go around…
