SCHOOL SAFETY: Gov. Rick Scott stops in Tampa to tout his school safety plan, which includes at least one resource officer per school. He reiterates opposition to armed teachers. The Pinellas County School Board urges lawmakers to adopt Scott's proposal. Hillsborough County district leaders say they like the outline but want to see more details. The Hernando County School Board approves a plan to add a deputy to every school. A Pasco County School Board member asks lawmakers not to approve a plan that would arm school employees. • Citrus County school leaders work to make sure students feel secure, not scared, on campus, the Citrus County Chronicle reports. • Marion County officials say they want an armed presence on every school grounds, whether an officer or a school employee, the Ocala Star-Banner reports.  • More than half of Bay County school employees say they would back having an armed colleague on campus, the Panama City News Herald reports. • The Duval County School Board says it will not authorize armed teachers regardless of any new law, the Florida Times-Union reports. • A private school in Lake County already has armed teachers, the Daily Commercial reports. • St. Johns County school officials plan to bolster security measures, the St. Augustine Record reports….
