It seems unlikely a bill to provide $50 million annually for Indian River Lagoon restoration projects will become law before the legislative session ends March 9.
No House or Senate committees have heard the bill and Feb. 27 is the deadline to do so. Neither chamber included the funding in their approved budgets.
HB 339 is in trouble, sponsor Rep. Gayle Harrell, R-Stuart, told TCPalm last week.
"It's very disappointing that we can't get it heard in the House," she said.
