The 5th Annual Farm-City Luncheon - Let's Talk Aquaculture!
Article Posted on October 12, 2022
Hello Friends,
Each year just before Thanksgiving we celebrate Farm-City Week. The week is used to honor and recognize the beneficial partnerships between rural and urban communities that make our food supply safe and plentiful.
The One Martin Board, in partnership with the Martin County Farm Bureau, is pleased to announce the 5th Annual Farm-City Luncheon on Thursday, November 17, at Pirates Cove Resort and Marina.
With this year's theme being aquaculture, a delicious, gourmet, tide-to-table lunch will be served up by Executive Chef Oscar Billordo using fresh locally sourced foods including steak and fish.
How much do you know about farming operations that are Aquaculture?
"Aquaculture is the production of aquatic organisms under controlled conditions throughout part or all their lifecycle. Its development can help meet future food needs and ease burdens on natural resources," according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Join us for an intimate conversation about this fascinating and little-talked-about farming operation - that is happening in our own backyard!
The luncheon sells out quickly each year, and we expect this year to be no different. To purchase your tickets or to become a sponsor, click on one of the buttons below.
