Stuart city manager placed on administrative leave, future employment in jeopardy

STUART — City Manager Dave Ross is on paid administrative leave until the City Commission decides whether to terminate his employment.

Commissioners made the decision by a 4-1 vote during a special meeting Wednesday night. They are to discuss Ross' possible resignation or termination at their next regular meeting, May 14.

The commission has received numerous complaints about Ross' leadership, and putting him on leave will improve morale at City Hall, Mayor Kelli Glass Leighton said Wednesday.

Ross attended the meeting but did not sit on the dais or address the commission. He declined to comment after the meeting.
